g-ma and g-pa: so what have you been working on
me: ~tHe cRafT~
g-ma: do you think you want a partner in life
me and g-pa: ??? (both ignore question)
g-pa: so about the book you’re writing
me: yes, I’ve been researching and—
g-pa: there’s so much to tell
me: yes, so much but—
g-ma: so much
me: yes, I’ve been gathering genealogy records so I can start studying the eras and learn the history in the larger context and—
g-pa and g-pa: we will tell you everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
me: i know! i just, like, want to read and research before we get into the specifics so i have a really thorough understanding of everything and i also plan on being in india and also you know this is going to be fictionalized right i mean i don’t want to get into the specifics just yet it’ll be based on us but—
g-ma: (cackles) don’t take too long now
me: omg stop 😳 no but it’s, you know, it’s going to take some time…
g-pa and g-ma: (proceed to ignore me and tell me about our descendants’ farm-work and migration to and from south africa and the malaria and TB and…)
me: wait what, ok, i was focusing on india and america but—we’re from south africa?
g-pa: so much to tell!!!!!!!!!
